Our Story

Charted Course was born from real-life experience, hard-earned lessons, and a deep understanding of the financial pressures business owners face.

Early in our marriage, we watched both of our families work incredibly hard yet struggle under constant financial stress despite professional success, strong work ethics, and genuine care for the people they served.

Kim grew up watching her father, a dedicated orthodontist who deeply loved his patients, work tirelessly while poor business systems, difficult partnerships, and financial mismanagement created overwhelming pressure that eventually led their family into bankruptcy. Blake watched his father become a top salesman who spent years building major accounts, only to lose his largest account — Southern California Edison — to the company he worked for. After years of helping companies grow, he was left exhausted, discouraged, and determined to build something of his own.

Those experiences shaped our belief that most business owners are not struggling because they lack talent or work ethic. They struggle because the financial side of business often feels overwhelming, unclear, and unsupported.

Instead of following a traditional career path, Blake stepped into entrepreneurship to help solve those challenges firsthand. What began as helping family eventually became decades of building successful companies, strengthening financial systems, increasing profitability, and helping businesses grow with greater clarity and confidence.

Today, Charted Course helps medical practices, dental offices, construction companies, and growing businesses build healthier cash flow, stronger financial systems, cleaner reporting, and more confident decision-making.
